In a wander around Plan B books a comic entitled 'I love dinosaurs, and they love me' caught my eye. It is by the very talented Lizz Lunney. I found myself purchasing another of her titles online and got a rather fetching free sticker!

Party Rings & Custard Creams!

On a wee trip to Edinburgh on Saturday I stopped by at Craft House Concept. A lovely shop featuring all manner of beautiful must-haves. I spotted this amazing print by Emily MacKenzie and just had to buy it. For so many reasons...
Party rings are an old-school classic biscuit, and so hard to come by these days. Malted milks for the great little farmyard scene on them. Bourbons were a necessity during my vegan years as a chocolate fix (as most brands are vegan). The humble custard cream... I could go on and on with my love for a fine biscuit! Some great biscuit related links are a nice of tea and a sit down and the rather inspiring, if a little silly, pimp that snack. Also spotted in the capital - Royal Wedding material!
My goodness, who wouldn't want to make an rather fetching outfit out of this stuff???

I want a wine drinking badger!

Yesterday was Mr Crafty's birthday. I must share the card I gave him featuring a tipsy badger! It was from the illustrator and textile designer Sophie Parker.

Her designs are beautiful, combining fair isle inspired patterns with animals. Check out her shop on Folksy here.

Knitting & Stitching!

At the weekend I went to MK. On my arrival I found that my mum had knitted me a lovely pot of primulas!
I also saw some autumnal acorns and the finest bovine creatures.
Sunday was an early start, as me, my mum and my nan went off to London for the Knitting and Stitching Show.
There was lots to see and do and buy! I particularly enjoyed the knitted biscuits from Sarah Kelly, though I think if I saw giant custard creams in my living room, I would be constantly hungry! When it came to buying, I attempted to be restrained. I brought Vintage Gifts to Knit from Sarah Crawford, an east London craft guerrilla zine and a book of Sublime knitting patterns. The credit card however really took a hit when I got to the OCA stall and ordered my next course - Understanding Art 1: Western Art. Will be worth it though. Back home in Glasgow, I can not tear myself from the rescue of the Chilean miners, fingers crossed that it all goes well.

Snapdragon & Crochetdermy

A quick posting today, as my silk squares have had markal paintsticks added for deeper colour and all now need ironing & sewing...

On Saturday we had a lovely drive in the country for Forth Valley Open Studios, one highlight was Snapdragon, who very kindly whizzed up this on the sewing machine for me!
How cute is this? Note to self I must learn how to free machine embroidery! Snapdragon also had a gorgeous garden, a very loud & cheeky dog, & some rather comical chickens & ducks! Another thing to pop on to my radar this week was some amazing crochet (or crochetdermy) by Shauna Richardson - check out the studio pictures on her website, they are amazing.
