Papergirl Glasgow Exhibition!

Remember the in bloom bicycle embroidery I did? Well it was sent off to be part of Papergirl Glasgow. A fantastic random act of kindness project, where art work is donated and then given out free by people on bicycles. See this video from the Papergirl Berlin project which explains it far better than I just did!

Anyways, last night was the exhibition launch party. It was amazing to see over 1000 pieces of art from over 100 artists adorn the walls of the LA Group, including my bicycle!
I was drawn to the other textile contributions, including some rather lovely cushion covers by Little Rhymes.
And some wonderfully stitched fabric disguised as lined paper by Lilllebe.

This week...

So this week I...

• finished my item for the Young Ones Craftster swap. I am very excited about this - though I can't show my item until my partner receives her package.
  
• finally handed in my Papergirl Glasgow submission. I dropped into to Make it Glasgow and received a lovely badge!

• started my squares for sitandknitabit 100 million stitches. Started yesterday morning and am currently on a moss stitch square - number 4!

• discovered beautiful textile work by Ann Stostrom.
  
• am excited about going to a make your own journal class at the Life Craft this week.

In Bloom & Happy Hogmanay!

The end of 2010 is almost here, and my bicycle basket has bloomed. Detached chain stitches and french knots have blossomed into a bunch of flowers. The new year will see it on a journey with the Papergirl project.

Bicycles and Beatrix

During the bank holiday I have been getting on with my Papergirl entry. Free machine embroidery on felt.
I like the squiggly lines and poorly drawn wheels. Next to put something in the basket.

Like any good bank holiday, I have been mostly sitting on the sofa, constantly snacking and watching TV. This afternoon was Miss Potter. And the same time the guinea pigs were out and about, doing their very best Peter Rabbit impressions!
