Russian Doll Doorstop

I think she might be the bouncer at the Doll's house!
This very cool doorstop was made for me by my mum :)

Olympic Yarnmobbing!

Hampden stadium will soon host Olympic football matches, so Scattercraft are planning on decorating the surrounding area with crafty goodness.  To contribute I knitted a fair-isle football, adapted from this pattern by Erssie Knits.
I also went along to a craft drop-in yesterday at Make it Glasgow.  There was yarn, wine, cake and good company.  Perfect for creating crochet flags.  And even mrTrekky got involved with sewing a football pitch!

Knitted covers...

In continuing the theme of knitting covers for things that already have covers (see here and here).  I can confirm that I am now ready for the ambassador's reception...
I had brought some chocolates with knitted covers like these when I was at Woolfest in aid of Hospice in the Home West Cumbria, and wondered if I could create a batch of my own.  Some sock yarn and a few trials later, and here you are!
Ps) Support hospices, they do amazing work, with very little NHS funding.  To show my appreciation and thanks for the help they provided myself & my family, this weekend I am walking my third Midnight Moo in aid of Willen Hospice - lets just hope that the rain stops!

Knitting progress

Birch is finished, though needs to be blocked.  My hands were then itching to get started on something else, so I made myself some more Wise Hilda socks.
This time I used some yarn that I brought some time ago in Lidl.  I really like this pattern, it is a k3p1 rib, which is so easy to do whilst watching TV (or watching the seagull chicks outside).
Last year we had one seagull chick on the roof opposite, well this year we have three.  They are rather comical to watch as they get bigger and start to practice using their wings.  Although my heart is in my mouth every time they start flapping close to the edge!
